Change is in the air, and with it comes the opportunity to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and dream about the future.
As Echo enters a new era under fresh management as Genesis, we want to honor its roots while embracing the evolution.

Here are the 10 questions we know you’ve been curious about. We spoke the Legendary founders and we aim to bring something magical to the thing we all hold so close to our hearts.

Note, we don't mention names in here, because as you'll see, it's not about us.

1. What inspired the creation of the festival

 

Almost a decade ago, two passionate DJs with a love for music and festival culture had a vision.

They saw the potential to create something special—an event that wasn’t just about big names and massive crowds, but about fostering a community of up-and-coming talent, younger audiences, and good friends.

What started as a dream among friends became a movement, fueled by love for the people, the music, and the freedom that festivals bring to the soul.

At its heart, this festival was founded as a gathering of like-minded individuals—a space where respect for one another, mindfulness toward the environment, and appreciation for music are paramount.
 

Designed to be inclusive for all ages and backgrounds, the festival has always been a place where families, friends, and free spirits could come together, shake off the weight of daily life, and immerse themselves in a world of connection, creativity, and community.

Their contributions create a richer experience for everyone, and we’re deeply grateful for the role they play in making each festival truly special.

The answer we received was simple and powerful:

The heart of the festival has always been the incredible, diverse community that gathers to celebrate music, art, and connection. It’s about the countless smiles, the energy of the dance floor, and the shared moments that make life feel magical.

No matter what changes come, the festival will always be for the people—by the people.

We hope for great success in this next chapter.

More than anything, we hope that the festival keeps its intimate gathering vibe, continues to receive strong support, and evolves with fresh ideas while staying true to its roots.

The goal is to keep the dance alive on the Garden Route, ensuring that every event is unique, progressive, and filled with magic.
